The island of Antigua is one I have visited many times. When clients ask me which island is my favorite, Antigua is always top of mind. I consider myself a professional beach connoisseur and with 365 beaches (one for every day of the year), Antigua has some of the best in the world.
On this particular trip we visited 3 properties - all very different with unique personalities but all equally beautiful. There are many other amazing resorts on this island and we can assist you on finding the perfect resort for you with a series of questions. Once we get to know your wants and needs (and using a little intuition) it is easy to determine which resort will work best. Our planning services are free and we hope that you will reach out to us for your next tropical trip!
Hodges Bay Resort & Spa
This property is a boutique luxury that doesn’t require a dress code. It is personalized 5-star service that isn’t stuffy or pretentious. Rooms designed to make you feel like home, staff that know you by name, and a property built as a retreat. If you are traveling to Antigua for anonymity, luxury and beauty... this is a clear winner.
Keep in mind, Hodges Bay is not an all-inclusive resort. This is a high end property (that does include an a la carte breakfast) that will cater to your every wish. We were super impressed by the high level of service when we forgot our toothpaste. They do not have a resort shop on property so our butler had his manager buy some from a local store and he delivered it to us in a few hours. No charge. Now that is service!
This property is less than 10 minutes from the airport which was a big plus when arriving at 11pm at night! We loved how easy it was to hop in a taxi and be at the hotel in minutes. They also consider themselves one of the top 10 most Instagramable hotels in the world. I am not sure if that is self-proclaimed, however I can certainly see how this could be true given the sheer beauty of the property.
Hammock Cove Resort
An upscale, all-Inclusive holiday for discerning adult travelers
This brand new property opened its doors last year to the excitement of many in the travel industry. I have been dying to check it out for months as this is a perfect addition to any all-inclusive bucket list! First, the resort has only 41 cottages that are either waterfront or water view and each comes with its own plunge pool. The best views are found right from your private patio and you might never leave your room! Instead of butler service, they have ambassadors that will assist with anything you need. Each room comes with its own cell phone that can be used to call your ambassadors day or night! We used them A LOT with most of our meals being delivered right to our room. Alcohol preference for your room? No problem. They delivered Grey Goose and Patron (full bottles) at no extra cost. The service here was outstanding!
Just behind the property, less than a 2 minute walk is the famous Devil's Bridge. You definitely want to walk over to this beautiful site where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Sea!
Have I mentioned the rooms?
Here is a little room tour to get you in the mood.....
This is a very small property located in a more remote area of Antigua. So if you are looking for action and entertainment, this is not your place. However if you are looking for quiet seclusion wrapped up in luxury, this is your jam (and mine)!
Sandals Grande Antigua
Because we have a recent blog post on this property, we will not go into too much detail. However, it is still as beautiful as ever and the friendly staff, all-inclusive inclusions and amazing beach still make this one of our favorite all-inclusive properties in the Sandals chain!
